Schleich - Dimetrodon Figure - 14569
The dimetrodon was a fierce and feared predator that lived around 3 to 27 million years ago, that is, 4 to 7 million years before the first prehistoric saurians. It was not a "true" dinosaur, but a remarkably mammal-like prehistoric reptile. It hunted reptiles, amphibians and fish that it shredded with its many sharp teeth. Its scientific name means "two sizes of teeth", as it was equipped with teeth of different sizes.
