Schleich - Stegosaurus Figure - 14568
The Schleich figures are all meticulously detailed and carefully hand-painted; they provide highly educational play. The stegosaurus could reach 9 m long and 4 m high: it was as big as a bus. It had large bony plates on its back that could reach 6 cm in height and width. It has long been considered the dumbest of dinosaurs because its brain was as small as a tennis ball and weighed only 8 g for a body weight of 4.5 tons. It is now thought that it had a kind of "second brain" at the base of its tail. Since its teeth were too pointed to chew, this herbivore swallowed stones that crushed the food in its stomach.
