In New Super Mario Bros. U, Mario, Luigi and Toad are joined by a new character: You! Use your Mii character to run and jump in this side-scrolling Mario adventure. Explore a gigantic map filled with all-new levels and experience innovative and Wii U-exclusive ways to play. Transform into a flying squirrel Mario to glide over landscapes and cling to walls, or into a bouncy Baby Yoshi to float gently through the air. Different colored Yoshis and new transformations complement the classic features. Thanks to the GamePad, multiplayer games are more fun than ever. Up to four players with Wii Remote controllers (not included) and a fifth using the Wii U GamePad (not included) can participate in the Coin Rush mode. In this mode, the player using the GamePad touches the touchscreen to place platforms on the TV screen. To test your skills, take on the challenges of Time Attack, 1UP, and other modes solo or with others, and try to beat records to unlock more modes. The Coin Battle mode offers a competitive spirit. Two to four players compete to collect as many coins as possible. An additional player can make the task easier or more difficult for the others by placing platforms with the GamePad.
