In this mode, the player using the GamePad can touch the touch screen to place platforms on the TV screen, adding a refreshing twist to classic Mario gameplay. Players work together to complete the stages or compete against each other in a frantic race to collect as many coins and transformations as possible while avoiding the giant blocks placed by their GamePad-wielding friend! If you enjoy cooperative play, the rush mode allows you to strategically place platforms to access unexplored areas or traverse the stages even faster. Take routes only accessible by working together and set records with family or friends. New Super Mario Bros. U offers varied gameplay providing many opportunities to expand your Super Mario skills. In rush mode, the stages scroll automatically, and the scrolling speed increases.
