Get ready for a new anthology game: Link, the Legend of Zelda and its wonderful world are coming for the very first time on Nintendo DS! This new adventure brings together all the elements that have made the series a success, while offering a unique and intuitive stylus control system for maximum immersion in the game.
The game is a sequel to the now legendary chapter released on GameCube, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. So we happily find our legendary hero Link but also Tetra (who is none other than the Princess Zelda of the fallen kingdom of Hyrule) and her crew of merry pirates, all set out to sea in search of new lands. During their journey, the crew finds themselves in the middle of a thick fog from which a ghost ship emerges. Tetra then decides to board and explore it alone, before being kidnapped by a malevolent creature! Powerless in the face of the ghost ship that disappears into the mist, Link and his fairy friend Ciela decide to set out on an adventure to save Tetra and fill the Ghost Hourglass. This artifact can protect our hero in the darkest dungeons and help him accomplish feats to carry out his new quest!
With the stylus, players can move, fight, navigate, take notes and interact with other characters in the game, by tapping, tracing lines or making various other movements on the touch screen. On the different islands, players tap the touch screen in front of the hero to make him move forward and use the same principle to question characters and gather important information. During ocean navigation, players can easily travel by tracing a course for their ship, and shoot at enemies with the cannon by targeting them with the stylus.
Link's famous sword movements are now also tactile: players use the stylus to control the hero during battles and touch the screen or make quick strokes to strike enemies. Players can attack a specific enemy by targeting it after touching it on the screen, but they can also trace a line to strike in a specific direction.
Finally, players can perform a spinning attack by drawing a circle around Link, which makes the game The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass as intuitive as it is accessible to all. In addition, players will find all kinds of items such as Link's bow, boomerang and bombs, all usable with the stylus for maximum precision during battles and puzzle solving. To use the boomerang, for example, players trace a precise itinerary that their weapon will follow.
For the very first time in a Zelda game, players can tilt their map to the lower screen to note important information about certain passages and thus highlight dangerous areas. However, the touch screen is not the only feature of the Nintendo DS that is used in the game: The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass also fully takes advantage of the console's microphone.
Once players have completed their mission by saving Tetra, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass will offer an exciting multiplayer mode in which two players can compete using either the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or the Nintendo DS wireless connection. In this mode, one player will play as Link and have to score points by bringing Force gems back to his base, while the other player will control the Phantoms and have to attack Link to make him lose his loot!
With its seven new dungeons and its exciting control system, this game will offer you the adventure of a lifetime, whether you are a die-hard Zelda fan or discovering the series for the first time!
