Alternatives Pokemon Cards

The alternative Pokémon cards, which appeared in 2017 in the United States and in 2018 in France, represent a unique category in the world of Pokémon cards. These special editions offer a different illustration of existing cards, while retaining their original numbering. Easily identifiable thanks to an 'a' or 'b' symbol added to the card number, they present the same expansion symbol as their original version. This collection, which currently counts 178 cards, was designed to allow players to use these reprints in tournaments while remaining faithful to the original expansion. Although this system has become less relevant with the introduction of international regulation marks in the Sword and Shield series, these alternative cards continue to fascinate collectors with their rarity and unique illustrations.
