In a village condemned to disappear by depopulation, a glimmer of hope is born: Keita, a local farmer, has created a new species of figs that is causing a sensation throughout Japan thanks to the recommendations of a web star! With media coverage, the local economy is picking up again. Keita hopes that this renewal will allow the school to reopen, which could convince his wife who left for the big city to return with their daughter. But the peaceful town sees its daily life turned upside down by the arrival of a sinister-looking stranger, Mutsuo Suzuki. He says he wants to work as a day laborer, but his brazen attitude and obvious lies inspire mistrust. Keita's doubts are confirmed when his best friend tells him he has recognized the stranger: convicted several years ago for a case of harassment and murder, he is a criminal freshly out of prison!
