After a brief flirtation with BMW, James Bond and Aston Martin (the most enduring partnership in cinema history) are reunited in the 20th 007 film: Die Another Day. The car is a tribute to the original Aston Martin DB5 used by Sean Connery, as it is equipped with numerous gadgets, a tungsten silver bodywork, and a wood-paneled dashboard matching exactly the silver DB5 driven by 007 in the 1964 Goldfinger. The Aston Martin Vanquish, with the license plate KE02 EWW, plays a key role in the film. At the beginning of the film, James Bond is introduced to the Aston Martin by Q, just as he was in Goldfinger. The Aston is equipped with numerous gadgets, including automatic guns that detach from the hood vents, rockets behind the grille, tire spikes, and a passenger ejection seat. All of these features are very useful during the chase with a Jaguar XK-R on the frozen lakes of Iceland. The most remarkable feature is its ability to become invisible. The Aston Martin Vanquish, designed by Ian Callum and manufactured by Aston Martin, was unveiled at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show and was produced from June 2001 to September 2004, with the last Vanquish S being produced between September 2004 and July 2007. The Vanquish was replaced by the DBS.
