L'Hiver russe 01

Autumn 1942. Enlisted in the army of the great Reich, Ernst Kessler, a 19-year-old young man dreaming of adventure, above all wants to prove to his brothers-in-arms that he is worthy of wearing the uniform of the Wehrmacht like so many others before him. The propaganda having done its work well, he and his comrades dream of only one thing: to cover themselves with honors and glory in the image of his "heroes" of the Eastern Front. Encouraged by the successive German victories, Kessler embarks on his career as a soldier in the 332nd Infantry Company. He then begins the long journey that will lead him to the battle. But the dream will soon be shattered and give way to a reality that Ernst Kessler had never imagined, for if the enemy is not the long-awaited Bolshevik soldier, there is another one who will claim as many victims and whom one cannot fight: the Russian winter.
