The Myth Cloth are produced by the company Tamashii (a Japanese manufacturer specialized in figurines) since 2003 to celebrate the launch of the OAVs of the Sanctuary part of the Hades cycle. Originally intended for the Japanese and Hong Kong markets, these figurines are distributed worldwide. In France, they have been available since early 2005, through Bandai France - until the end of March 2012 - and by Cosmic Group1 since April 1, 2013. The latter sell the Myth Cloth in the original Japanese package without the Toei Animation sticker, with a sticker on the bottom of the box bearing the legal mentions (name of the importer, age restriction, etc.) in French and Italian.
In order to meet European standards, some figurines had to be modified. The first armor to undergo modifications is that of Siegfried of Dubhe (divine warrior of Asgard), released in 2006, as it had parts deemed too sharp.
Versions:
* Japanese (AAA Quality):
They must have the Toei sticker, which can now be found in different colors (silver or gold).
The "Cowboy Hat" character can be presented in several colors since the Japanese release of the "Pope Shion Tamashii Nation 2008" and the "Pegasus V4 Original Color Edition".
The point that will guarantee that the Myth Cloth is a Japanese version is that under the Toei character, the writings are "kanji" (Japanese writing).
On recent releases, another factor may eventually guide you and indicate that it is a Japanese version: the advertising outline of the Premium and other Saint Seiya events.
*Hong Kong:
You can find several HK versions on the market. Indeed, the first releases did not have a sticker in order to differentiate themselves from the Japanese.
After the French and European commercialization of the Myth Cloth, the HK versions were equipped with their own sticker. This one is round and green (Quality AA).
But things get tougher in 2007 as the HK versions are distinguished by 3 new stickers very close to those of the Japanese versions. 3 stickers for 3 different origins:
* HK from China (Quality: A) ... silver sticker and black character but the writings are in Chinese.
* HK from Hong Kong (Quality AA) ... silver sticker and red character.
*HK from Taiwan (Quality: A) ... silver sticker and green character
