The dinogorgon lived more than 250 million years ago, in the current territories of South Africa and Tanzania. This small carnivore had a very powerful dentition and a small, thick and massive skull, 30 to 40 cm long. It takes its name from the Gorgons, terrible malevolent creatures of Greek mythology.
