PlayStation Portable (PSP)

The PlayStation Portable (PSP), launched by Sony in 2004, marked a turning point in the world of portable consoles. Equipped with a 4.3-inch widescreen LCD display and a MIPS R4000 processor, it offered graphics quality close to the PlayStation 2. The PSP innovated with its proprietary disc format, the Universal Media Disc (UMD), capable of storing up to 1.8 GB of data. Its Wi-Fi connectivity enabled network gaming and internet browsing.
