Forgotton Anne

On a strictly ludic level, Forgotton Anne and its mix of platforming/puzzles, although effective, are not particularly memorable. The rather conventional scenario does not break five feet on a stool. And yet, Throughline Games' title is a very beautiful gaming experience, the kind that leaves a little trace in the hearts of those who have one. This true interactive animated film has a really unique, captivating, touching thing about it. We feel that we are facing a game that has been thought out and crafted with passion in its every detail. The story, the universe, the gameplay and the artistic direction thus form a coherent and charming whole to the point of making us forget its clumsiness, like those little blue notes of a seventeen-year-old singer that only enhance the accuracy of an interpretation whose powerful and delicate nuances give us chills. Yes, Anne and her Forgotten Lands have something truly unforgettable about them.
