Front Mission 4

Front Mission 4 is a Tactical RPG developed and published by Square Enix. Released in 2003 in Japan and 2004 in the United States for the PlayStation 2. Like its predecessor Front Mission 3, Front Mission 4 is the first in the Front Mission series to be released on the PlayStation 2. Story: Taking place in 2096, the story of Front Mission 4 takes place in Germany and South America 6 years after the Second Huffman Conflict (and 16 years before Front Mission 3). The game weaves the stories of the two main characters, Elsa and Darril. The game begins in Europe with Elsa's story. Formerly a Wanzer pilot for the French army, Elsa joins Durandal (the UK-based EC Armor Tactics Research Corps, Durandal), an EC organization that examines and conducts research on Wanzers. Shortly after Elsa's joining the organization, an unknown force of Wanzers attacks a German EC base. Durandal is then sent to Germany to study this mysterious attack, where they will uncover a huge conspiracy. Elsa's story is interrupted to make way for Darril's story in South America. The Venezuelan governor of the UCS (which became the USN in Front Mission 3) has suddenly declared independence from the UCS and deployed troops to block the country. UCS soldiers are sent to suppress the Venezuelan forces. Darril and his unit are among those deployed, but they have no interest in the war. Darril's story begins when he and his unit witness a plane crash in the jungles of Venezuela. What they find inside the plane's cargo will decide their fate...
