Sega Menacer

The Sega Menacer is an optical gun for the Sega Mega Drive console, similar to the Nintendo Super Scope. Unlike the gun available on the Master System, the Menacer is in the form of a gun that can be transformed into a rifle using a movable stock. The Menacer works thanks to an infrared cell connected to the Mega Drive via a controller port. This cell is placed on the game screen. This system has an advantage, which is that it does not require a cable connecting the gun to the console. But this also means that the Menacer must be powered by batteries, and especially that at the beginning of each game with this accessory, it is necessary to calibrate it so that the aiming is not altered by the inopportune movement of the infrared receiver.
