Wii Music was designed for those who would like to play music but do not master music theory or the technique to play an instrument. Wii Music is more of a creative instrument than a simulation, like Wii Sports was.
Wii Music allows you to create while being guided and reassured by a framework: you invent new ways to play familiar tunes, you make them your own without fear of music theory or a blank score...
With Wii Music, you can give free rein to your musical creativity with up to four players. Each player can choose from among the sixty instruments offered and play using simple movements. So strum a guitar or play the drums like a professional! Make the songs your own and rearrange them as you please. Proud of your creations, send them to your Wii friends who also own Wii Music via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
- Everyone is a musician. No need to be an expert to form your band or orchestra. Choose your instrument from the sixty available and naturally imitate the movements of each instrument with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk: strum to play the guitar, beat for the jazz drums or hammer to play the piano.
- It's easy to compose, no need to follow the music. Modify the rhythm at will: speed up, slow down, skip a beat or add ten. Modify the musical ensembles at will: add a rock touch to classical songs or put a little jazz in folk pieces. The playlist is just a starting point: what matters is how you improvise on these songs.
- Need a music coach?: If you want to improve your style or that of your orchestra, call on Professor Sebastian. Follow his lessons to learn to master each instrument, its place in the group or to tame the different suggested musical styles (if you want to play 'Eine kleine Nachtmusik' in Tango style or 'Wake me up before you go go' in Japanese style).
- Share: send recordings of your improvisations to your Wii friends who own Wii Music. They will be able to see the Mii members of your group and your instrument choices. They will also be able to watch your recordings or play on parts of your song, then send you their modifications. You can exchange your improvisation sessions endlessly thanks to WiiConnect24.
- Play with music. In addition to improvising with your loved ones, Wii Music offers many activities to have fun with music: you can create your own album covers, conduct an orchestra, measure your sense of rhythm with bells or test your musical ear.
