Pair of neon blue and neon red Joy-Con controllers The Joy-Con controllers and their multiple uses pave the way for many new and surprising ways to play and have fun. The two Joy-Con can be used autonomously, one in each hand, or together to form a single controller by snapping them on either side of the Joy-Con grip. They can be attached to the main console for use in portable mode, or shared with a friend to enjoy two-player games on compatible titles. Each Joy-Con has all the buttons needed to serve as a full-fledged controller. Each one incorporates an accelerometer and a gyroscope, allowing the motion sensor functionality of both Joy-Con to be used independently. But the Nintendo Switch also incorporates several features designed to make it even more interactive. The left Joy-Con has a screenshot button that allows players to instantly capture in-game screenshots to share with friends on social media. The right Joy-Con incorporates an NFC area to interact with amiibo, as well as an infrared motion-detecting camera that can detect the distance, shape, and movement of objects in the vicinity in games designed to use this feature. For example, it can detect how far a player's hand is, or what shape it takes in a rock-paper-scissors game. Both Joy-Con include advanced HD rumble that allows for more realistic vibrations than ever before in compatible games. The effect is so detailed that the player can even feel the distinct vibrations of ice cubes clinking in a glass when shaking the Joy-Con. With HD rumble, you'll experience a level of realism that images and sound alone cannot reproduce. A word on the Nintendo Switch (not included): The Nintendo Switch is Nintendo's latest console. It is both a home console and a portable device. Specifically, it connects to a TV (via an HDMI port) but can also instantly transform into a portable console with a 6.2-inch screen.
