In the Mushroom Kingdom, where a flat and flawless calm usually reigns, Olly, the Origami King, has decided to take control of the world and its 2D inhabitants by folding them in his image: all in origami and in 3D! Princess Peach finds herself folded in on herself and her castle tied up by five big snakes, while many creatures are transformed into Paper Mache Origwarriors, in the pay of the terrible Olly. Enough to crumple the inhabitants, loyal supporters of 2D! Even Bowser finds this king completely crazy! Incarnate Paper Mario and fold yourself in four to save the Kingdom! Travel through an enchanting paper world. ??Your 2D world has changed a lot, now some decors and enemies are folded into origamis and offer you all new perspectives. To free the princess, you must explore several large interconnected areas through pipes including a Japanese village, an exotic desert, a mysterious island and many other surprising places. Defeat the boss hiding there and untie the snake! Thanks to Olivia, Paper Mario has a unique origami ability, the Multi-Folded Arms, which allow him to reach inaccessible areas and manipulate the elements of the decor to solve puzzles and progress, such as knocking down an old tree to cross a ravine! This world is full of secrets, search everywhere, hit the blocks and shake the trees! Flatten all your enemies! ?? Throughout his adventure, Paper Mario will have to face the Origwarriors, the origami henchmen created by King Olly! A completely revisited combat system: no more face-to-face, this time you are at the heart of an arena and must reposition your enemies, arranged on concentric circles all around you, as quickly as possible. Are they well aligned like skewers? Launch your "Boot" attack to blow them up. If they are close around you, the "Hammer" attack will give them a hard time. The more you succeed in properly aligning your enemies, the more your attack power increases. Against well-riled bosses, use your 3D attacks: different from the classic battles, the battles against the bosses require more observation and strategy because this time, it is they who are at the center of the arena. You can in particular attack with your Multi-Folded Arms or thanks to the elemental origami attacks gleaned throughout the adventure that will inflict serious damage on the enemy! What do we have in annex? Quests! Collect confetti by defeating enemies! These confetti allow you in particular to darn the "holes" left in your beautiful Kingdom by King Olly! And who knows, by repairing the elements of the decor you may discover a secret passage... Participate in the great hunt for "Toadsor"! The Toads have been folded into all kinds of shapes: origami dog, apple, stuck to the walls... they can be anywhere! Interact with the decor by giving a big hammer blow and you will surely reveal a little Toad with a funny retort. Some saved Toads will return to Toadville, the main hub, to bring a little life back there, or even to reopen a new useful store or place. Many mini-games to discover! Participate in a big quiz against the Maskass, go up a river avoiding obstacles, pick up as many fish as possible, or hit as many targets as possible with your paper shurikens! These mini-games appear during the adventure and you can play them again whenever you want to improve your score and unlock bonuses.
