Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World offers players the opportunity to play as Nelke von Lestamm, a young aristocrat who has always been fascinated by the legend of the Sage of Granzweit. The story of the Granzweit tree would have it that great power is granted to whoever manages to find it. As she grows up, Nelke learns that her main talents are not limited to alchemy, but to organization: she then decides to work for the government to help others. But just as Nelke is about to graduate from the Academy, her life takes a turn when she learns that the Granzweit tree is located on her father's lands, not far from the village of Westwald. She obtains her father's permission to search for it, on the sole condition that she become the governor of the region and turn Westwald into a prosperous city.
