The Sims on DS offers a different concept from the rest of the franchise, with an adventure and a scenario. You land in a dilapidated hotel, lost in the middle of the desert, and the locals stick you with managing the establishment to prevent the town from disappearing. It's up to you to do everything you can to renovate the premises, bring back the tourists, set up new rooms, a casino, etc.
Beware of surprises: aliens and the mafia are likely to be part of the game.
The action takes place on the top screen, with the bottom screen being a kind of control station, a dashboard from which you choose interactions, navigate through your inventory or check your objectives.
Many minigames, adapted to the dual screen, dot the adventure: managing the moods of your entourage, casino games or mini-challenges, to name but a few.
