In consultation with PES fans and football fans in general, PES 2013 offers greater freedom of play, offering total control over the ball, mastery of positioning and ways of shooting at goal. Fundamental work has been done on the style and behavior of the greatest players: their ways of running, their behaviors with and without the ball, their own characters. 50 of the greatest players in the world have been recreated in the smallest details and are thus immediately recognizable on the screen. PES 2013 is built around 3 central concepts: PES FullControl, Player ID and ProActive AI. PES FullControl offers players total control of movements, and incorporates a new 'dynamic touch' concept allowing players to select how they receive the ball and then move it, pass or shoot in a completely manual way. Dribbling and movements in tight spaces are also greatly improved and with a slowed down pace to match real football, players can use the R2/RT button to perform many styles of movement. This level of control is also found in the new manual one-two system and the new defensive system with the X button allowing to put huge pressure on the ball carrier. The reactions and animations of the goalkeepers in PES 2013 allow players to offer spectacular actions and better anticipation of dangers. Player ID ensures a very faithful representation of the greatest existing players, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been analyzed and integrated into the game in the smallest details. With players reacting in individual ways, ProActive AI ensures a pace of play as close as possible to reality: matches are more balanced, better organization of teams doing the pressing and now a strong defensive line. Teams also react more quickly to a loss of the ball, tightening the lines for improved defensive formation Training: Training sessions are one of the essential aspects of PES, they are crucial in order to master the new features as best as possible. A series of guided tests will allow the player to discover the new manual pass and shot system, but also to improve the handling of a second player on the field with Off The Ball Control.
