This opus co-created by Kojima Productions and PlatinumGames marks the return of the character Raiden. But this time, it will no longer be a question of infiltration.... When a mission to protect an African minister ends with the assassination of the latter by over-trained cyborgs, Raiden's hopes of living a quiet life are shattered and he is forced to return to the front.. . Raiden now works for a Private Military Security Company called 'Maverick Security Consulting'. While the world is supposed to have emerged from its civil conflicts, it is suffering new attacks from robotized groups. A powerful cyborg, Sam, even manages to assassinate the Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia. Sam accuses Raiden of being nothing but a bloodthirsty hypocrite and tries to assassinate him in turn.. . Quickly, an investigation reveals that Sam is working for a PMC called 'Desperado Enterprises' which has begun the invasion of the capital of the Republic, where American-Russian interests are intertwined. Maverick Security is asked to send its men to allow an unconditional liberation of the capital. Raiden, now endowed with new faculties, resumes service and prepares his revenge...
