Turn-based combat is all well and good, but let's face it, fighting games are much more exciting. Pikachu, Charizard and their companions have answered the call of battle. Developed by Bandai Namco, the game takes the basics of the Tekken series gameplay - hence the name Pokkén. With a controller in hand, it's explosive. In control of your favorite monster, you must knock out your opponent in duels where you can call on support Pokémon to regain the advantage. You can play alone or with a friend, locally or against players from around the world. The controls are easier to master than in a classic Tekken, even if you still need to memorize a few combinations. The intense confrontations will appeal as much to fans of pocket monsters as to lovers of simple and effective fighting games.
