In a neo-feudal Japan located in a very distant future (24th century), civilization has disappeared, victim of endless wars... Men have returned to a primitive, agrarian society. The power is in the hands of four kings, under the supreme authority of their father, the Emperor. Each has full power over his territory and his army. A color is assigned to each ruler, as in the Sentai: red, blue, white and black. Gold is reserved for the King of Kings. His method of preserving his power: to divide his children to better reign. If one of them stands out, he risks his life... At the birth of his youngest son, Shuri, the Red King, a prophecy announces that he will be "the one through whom misfortune will come". Immediately removed from the court, Shuri receives the poorest domain... A few years later, twins are born in a village lost in the mountains: a boy, Tatara and a girl, Sarasa. According to legend, Tatara is invested with an important mission: to liberate his people from the tyranny of the Red King. Alas, the young man is cowardly murdered by the sovereign's men. Sarasa then chooses to take on her late brother's identity and follow Tatara's destiny...
