The long, much-dreaded winter has arrived. In the seven episodes of this penultimate season, the armies unite and strategic decisions are made. At the beginning of the season, Daenerys Targaryen, accompanied by her trio of dragons and her army of Unsullied, deploys her forces with the support of her Dothraki and Iron-born allies. She finally sets sail for Westeros, seconded by Tyrion Lannister, whom she has appointed as Hand of the Queen. In the North, Jon Snow seems to have consolidated his power more than ever thanks to his crushing victory over Ramsay Bolton and the Stark family's reconquest of Winterfell. In King's Landing, Cersei Lannister, now devoid of any natural heir, has seized the Iron Throne. But as the strategic alliances are forged and then broken between the different Houses, a greater apocalyptic threat looms: the army of the dead is advancing inexorably towards the Wall.
