Michel Vaillant is contacted by his stuntman friend Gil Delamare who offers him to participate in the filming of a sensational film on car racing titled "The Daredevils". Michel accepts this offer which will give him the opportunity to test the brand new prototype of the Vaillant company. While the stunts are controlled to the millimeter, the same cannot be said for the malicious intentions of an individual who has decided, in the shadows, to discredit the racing driver in the eyes of the public.
