Born from the imagination of Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Batman was created in 1939. Bruce Wayne is still a child when he witnesses the murder of his parents in a Gotham alley. Traumatized, he trains for years to sharpen his physical abilities and deductive mind. A carefree and frivolous billionaire by day, he dons a bat-like armor at night, hunting and terrifying criminals across Gotham. His immense fortune gives him access to a wide arsenal of gadgets he uses to neutralize his opponents without ever killing them.
Here is the first statuette of the Gotham City Nightmare collection by the manufacturer Sideshow.
The principle of the collection is as follows: what would the familiar characters of Gotham look like if they were seen in full terror?
According to Tom Gilliland, creative director of Sideshow, 'the defender of justice emerges from the night, but no longer as a knight. He has become the lord of darkness.' Batman is thus seen here as a true bat-man, perched on a gargoyle, his wings spread. Repulsive creatures (rat, bat, centipede and other insects) crawl at his clawed feet. The hero's body has been meticulously sculpted to reveal the fusion of his skin and costume. His gray and blue eyes show no emotion. An organic Batman logo extends across his chest. The figurine comes with an interchangeable head of an even more frightening bat demon, completed with a stand to pose it if not used.
Materials: resin, PVC.
Size: approx. 50 cm.
