The Timbavati is a South African river and the name of a magnificent wildlife reserve in Kruger National Park. You can admire the "Big Five", five African mammals: the African elephant, the black rhinoceros, the African buffalo, the lion and the leopard. These animals were coveted trophies for big game hunters but are now protected by game wardens. You can even sometimes spot a few rare white lions in the Timbavati reserve.
