Marvel - Captain America Marvel - Captain America
Martin Goodman founded Timely Publications in 1939. The Marvel company changed its name several times before becoming Marvel Comics and establishing itself as one of the leading publishing companies in the United States. It first found success with The Human Torch, Namor, Ka-Zar and especially Captain America. After a difficult 1950s, Marvel would go on to great success, thanks to the pens of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. They gave birth to the Fantastic Four, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Spider-Man, The Avengers, the X-Men, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Nick Fury and Black Panther. This did not prevent the gradual decline of Marvel, which ended up in the Disney fold in 2009. An alliance that would give birth to a series of hugely successful superhero films. This figurine is made of PVC (plastic). It measures approximately 10 cm in height. The figurine is delivered with its base, to facilitate presentation on a desk for example. No assembly required.A word about Captain America: Jack Kirby and Joe Simon launched the character in 1940. Steve Rogers is a young American who dreams of enlisting in the army to fight the Nazis. Rejected due to his frail physique, his determination does not go unnoticed, however. He is recruited to participate in a program aimed at creating a super soldier through a serum. The experiment is successful. Steve becomes capable of lifting 500 kg, running 100 meters in less than 5 seconds and jumping 6 meters high. His perception, memory, endurance and resistance to disease or poison are also exceptional. He goes to fight the Nazis under the identity of Captain America, but disappears in the Arctic Ocean at the end of the war. Years later, his body, preserved by the serum, is found by the Avengers. He resumes service within their team but decides to serve an ideal rather than a government.
