Discours de réception d'Amélie Nothomb à l'Académie royale de Belgique accueillie par Jacques De Decker

On March 14, 2015, Amélie Nothomb was elected to the Royal Academy of the French Language and Literature of Belgium. Chosen in particular for "the importance of [her] work, its originality and consistency, its international influence" as pointed out by Jacques de Decker, the novelist was enthroned on December 19, 2015. Welcomed by Jacques de Decker, she delivered the traditional speech exercise by paying a vibrant tribute to her predecessor, the Belgian writer and sinologist Simon Leys.
