Goosebumps is an American children's horror fiction book series written by R.L. Stine, which was published from July 1992 to December 1997 and comprised seventy-four books in the original series. Various spin-offs of the collection, also written by R.L. Stine, have been published since then. These suspenseful novels for children and young teenagers were published in France by Bayard Poche between March 23, 1995 and November 13, 2001 for the original series (seventy-four books). This book collection was a great success in France as well as worldwide, especially among the youth, with 350 million books sold in thirty-five languages. It even gave rise in the 1990s to a TV series of the same name, Goosebumps, with seventy-two episodes, aired notably on YTV in Canada and on France 2 in France, and the episodes more or less faithfully transcribed some of the novels in the collection. The latter has also generated the creation of numerous derivative products. In 2015, it was adapted for the cinema with the film Goosebumps, featuring a fictional version of R.L. Stine.
