Alice et le médaillon d’or

James Roy, Alice's father, an attorney by profession, reluctantly handles an adoption case. His clients are John and Fanny Clark, an unsympathetic wealthy artist couple who are about to adopt two orphaned twin babies found abandoned in a boat washed up on the river bank. When James Roy receives an anonymous letter begging him not to sign the adoption papers, he gives Alice the go-ahead to try and find the mother of the two girls. Alice learns that a broken heart-shaped locket was found in the boat with the babies. She sets out to find the other half of the jewelry, hoping an inscription might provide a clue...
