The Mega Monopoly was developed by Phil Orbanes. Phil Orbanes is a great Monopoly collector and has written several books on the subject. Aware of the (sometimes very long) duration of the games, he then sought to shorten them to keep only the best. In particular, the first part of the game, where players buy their properties, had to be reduced to a minimum. That's when he invented the fast die (later used in the classic version of the game), which allows, when the player lands on "Mr Monopoly", to go directly to the first unsold property. So that this die is useful throughout the game, if all the properties are sold, the "Mr Monopoly" takes the player to the first property that does not belong to him... it's bad news in this case! All that remains is to add 12 additional squares, skyscrapers, railway depots and money to complete this Mega Monopoly.
