Biography: The Imperial assault troopers deployed in cold climates were inspired by clone soldiers who had performed a similar function within the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, on planets such as Orto Plutonia, Khorm and Mygeeto. However, unlike the clone soldiers, those chosen to become Snowtroopers have been selected for their ability to operate in extreme climatic conditions.
